The winner of the Forbici d’oro 2023 award competition is presented in Biella

To Jin Segun the Golden Scissors Award 2023 During the 39th Congress of the

World Federation of Master Tailors, an ancient international association founded in Brussels in 1865, which met in Biella from 31 July 2023 to 5 August 2023, the winner of the Forbici d’oro 2023 competition was awarded: Jin Segun, a young 34-year-old tailor working at the Liverano e Liverano tailor’s shop in Florence. Two special prizes were also awarded: to Ivan Americano, a former student of the men’s tailoring school at the Accademia Nazionale dei Sartori, the Gesso d’oro award for having made the best model and the best cut, while to Lorenzo Macchiaroli, a recent graduate of the Academy’s three-year men’s tailoring course, the Ditale d’oro award for the best workmanship of the suit. The ten finalists worked hard to make the suits in fabric made available by the competition sponsor Lanificio Ermenegildo Zegna & Figli, suits that were paraded during the prestigious fashion show of the Accademia Nazionale dei Sartori, and were appreciated by the international audience present at the Congress.
